Andrew Villarreal is a New Orleans–based photographer with a background rooted in high-level film, editorial, and commercial production. Outside of photography, he has worked on major feature films including Sinners, Spinal Tap II, and Kinds of Kindness.
His first professional photoshoot was assisting Peter Lindbergh, an experience that set the tone for everything that followed. Working under one of the most influential photographers of the modern era instilled a respect for simplicity, emotional truth, and letting subjects exist without over-direction. He later assisted and worked alongside artists and performers such as Emma Stone, Joel Edgerton, and Harry Shearer, gaining fluency in environments where expectations are high and taste matters. Andrew also spent time traveling and working alongside Anthony Bourdain—an education in awareness, adaptability, and recognizing moments before they disappear.
Andrew built his career without representation—no agent, no manager, no nepotism—earning access through reliability, discretion, and trust. He now brings that experience to portrait and editorial photography, applying a disciplined eye shaped by real sets, real pressure, and real moments.
